faux freckle pre & aftercare

Treatment cannot go ahead if:

  • You have sunburn or have had excessive sun exposure.

  • You have eczema or other skin conditions in the affected area.

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • You are on antibiotics.

  • You are undergoing chemotherapy (must be at least 6 months post-treatment, with a doctor's note).

If you are planning a sun holiday within two weeks after your appointment, it is best to reschedule until after, as you will need to avoid direct sunlight and keep the treated area dry for the first week.

What to avoid before your appointment:

  • Retinol - 1 week

  • Accutane - 6 weeks

  • Microneedling / other invasive treatments- 2 weeks

  • Sunbeds / tanning - 2 weeks

Faux freckles are generally a 2-part treatment, as everyone's skin heals differently. A top-up appointment can be booked between 4 - 12 weeks after your initial session, allowing us to see how the freckles have settled into your skin and make any adjustments needed. We can go darker or add more freckles if desired, because freckles are great to build in layers for added dimension, I always recommend a top-up.

DOWNTIME:

The healing process will vary from client to client. Expect redness on the day of the treatment, which generally settles down after 24 to 48 hours. You will see the freckles darken in colour from day 2 or 3, but they will start to settle down by day 5.

  • No makeup on the treated area for 7 days.

  • No SPF for 2 weeks.

  • No gym or excessive sweating for the first 48 hours.

  • No swimming, saunas, or hot tubs for 2 weeks.

A full aftercare guide will be sent to you after treatment.
